Our mission

To improve the health of Utah’s pregnant people, mothers, infants, children and adolescents, and children with special health care needs by providing analytic, epidemiologic, and web resources to the Offices of Maternal and Child Health (MCH), Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN), Coordinated Care and Regional Support (CCRS), and Early Childhood. The Data Resources Program (DRP) ensures that pertinent data are appropriately analyzed and made available for use by Office programs in the assessment, planning, and development of evidence-based programs and policies.

Data resources program

In addition to providing analytic support to programs in the Division of Family Health, DRP provides limited support to local health departments and community groups concerned about health issues in Utah as they relate to MCH and CSHCN populations.

Types of analytic support include developing and conducting epidemiologic research studies, providing technical assistance on database design, survey instrument development and testing, and program evaluation studies. In addition, we conduct statistical analysis, data modeling, and offer support in the design and preparation of statistical reports. DRP assists in conducting special research and preparing articles, abstracts, and presentations for national conferences or professional journals. DRP also links key MCH/CSHCN data sets for program planning, evaluation, and surveillance.
